jim harrie, rarely does a leopard lose its spots this late in one's career. i hope hatton retires honestly. don't want to see him go out like roy jones after two vicious concussion losses. i agree with you re: mayweather-pacquiao.

I was hoping for a rejuvenated Hatton but I guess he didn't change much. I don't see the Hatton-Packy or Oscar-Packy fights as indications of what a Floyd-Packy would be like. Unlike Oscar, Floyd isn't washed up and he is an extremely skilled fighter not to mention very fast. If he trains hard for this, I pick him by decision.

Jeff, I do not think Hatton has exceptional talent. I think he's a mentally tough, physically strong, and hard-working athlete who got the most out of his somewhat limited skill set and natural ability. I do agree that he brings a measure of energy and fan base to the sport (he's still the UK's biggest attraction) that is important. But I also think he'll likely NOT be in any other great fights...He's struggled against solid fighters too (Lazcano, Collazo and others)...I just hope the guy is in good health...that's two major concussions in his past three fights. (Agreed) His health should be the primary concern.

True, Losing to two guys who don't appear to be anyones league really is nothing Ricky should feel ashamed about. I don't think Ricky needs to retire unless its for health issues. He has not won 45 fights if he did not have expectional talent. Keep going Ricky. There will still be great fights out there for him. The sport needs him.
